It is important that hospitals are providing the most efficient, welcoming environment for patients, and we were pleased to support Bicester Community Hospital in achieving this.
Our external wall insulation was chosen for the Bicester Community Hospital by Balfour Beatty. The development of the design was managed by Kajima Partnerships in conjunction with IBI Group, ensuring NHS Property Services would be provided with a highly functional building to meet their current and future needs.
The building is a steel-frame construction using Fermacell boards, alongside our external wall insulation system, incorporating 250mm-thick expanded polystyrene insulation. Our Basic 1 system helped create a thermally efficient building that offers a comfortable indoor climate both in summer and winter for patients and staff alike. It also boasts excellent weathering and durability properties, ensures reliable protection and crack resistance, and helps make a real contribution to energy saving and environmental
protection in the most cost-effective manner.
We are delighted to have moved into this purpose-built community facility, which provides an excellent modern and safe environment to deliver community hospital services and care to local people.
The vibrant white render topcoat offers a clean, modern finish that is ideal for this new community hospital. Overall, the build enabled an affordable solution that was easy to construct, maintain, adapt and manage, and which met all statutory requirements, building regulations and NHS design guidance and policies.
